Project Overview and Role A sub-committee of the Technical Committee of the Management and Monitoring of Essentials Medicines (CTGSME) was recently set up to implement an action plan for the implementation of the total market approach for reproductive health supplies. The consultant will provide support to this sub-committee under the supervision of Team Leader of the social marketing component of the KJK project and the purview of designated focal technical counterpart in the Department of Pharmacy and Medicines of the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene.

Duration: The duration of this consultancy is one year at 20 % time or one day a week. Location: HP+/KJK Office in Bamako, Mali Role and Responsibilities

• The consultant will follow up on the activities described in TMA action plan and will help organize meetings of the sub-committee for TMA of the CTGSME) and act as one of meetings rapporteurs.
• The consultant will follow up on the next steps as defined by members of the TMA sub-committee and advise the technical counterpart at DPM and the Team Leader of progress in their implementation in verbal and written briefs.
• The consultant will set up a list of contacts with key actors (decision-makers and influencers) in the local, regional and international pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution industries (especially for contraceptives) and will develop with the Social Marketing Team consultant a strategy for engaging them with the purpose of obtaining their increased engagement in TMA activities.
• Likewise they will set up a list of contacts with key actors in the social security and employer organs and large firms (i.e. Orange, Nestle, Malitel) and in the local and international donor community with a view of obtaining their engagement in TMA activities.
• They will maintain and foster collaborative professional relationships with high-level officials in the medical and pharmaceutical communities as well as with government officials and donor representatives and key opinion leaders for the advancement of social marketing and TMA goals in Mali.

• They will assist in organizing high-visibility events and for securing the participation of high officials and key decision-makers and opinion leaders in those events Position Requirements

• At a minimum, a medical or pharmaceutical degree is required. A qualification in public health is a plus.

• At least five years of experience in progressively responsible positions.

• Strong inter-personal and communication skills and capacity to engage and interact with high level officials and other key players in the reproductive health area are a must.
